Dejiunte Murray, an NBA player for the San Antonio Spurs, had a difficult childhood. Some may be surprised to hear the athlete’s backstory as he had never imagined himself in the sport since he was a kid.
He was 11 years old when he was first introduced to street life. From an early age he was exposed to drugs and crime. Everyone on the street knew him by his first name.
When he was a child, his mother was often in and out of prison. Child Protective Services has tried several times to intervene in order to place him in a more stable family.
ICYMI, Dejounte told Murray about his rough childhood and how having a child of his own changed his life.

He had no idea when he would be able to eat. So he moved from apartment to apartment and hotel to hotel. At any time, he had to share a room with his cousins, uncles, aunts, and sister.
His family was deeply involved in gangs and criminal activities. So, according to FoxTv, he knew what drugs were when he was four or five years old.
His harsh upbringing and the experience were so ingrained in him that he was once afraid of having his child. When his daughter was finally born, he said he passed out for a few seconds.
