Fletcher continued: “Alopecia areata causes patchy hair loss. I started losing hair in my beard and then patches on my scalp, so I ended up shaving my beard and then my hair got so patchy on my head that I had to remove most of it too.
“The British public has seen Dr Karl without her, the Australian public is going to see it on June 2, so stay tuned,” Fletcher added before happily taking off his cap.
“I know many of you will be quite shocked, but I have no problem with it. It’s actually quite fun!”
Fletcher encouraged other alopecia patients to seek professional support if they are struggling.
